Introducing our limited-edition 1971 shoe

Arsenal and adidas launch limited edition trainer to celebrate 1971 double-winning team.

The yellow and blue trainer pays homage to the famous kit we wore in the 1971 FA Cup Final when Charlie George scored the winner in our 2-1 victory against Liverpool. The sock liner has a pattern taken from the classic Arsenal crest and there is a cannon graphic on the heel.

The “1971 TRX” shoe will be available to buy on Tuesday 8th June from Arsenal Direct, club stores, the adidas CONFIRMED app and selected retailers, with only 1,971 pairs available globally.

Our yellow and blue away kit for the 2021/22 season is also inspired by the strip worn by our heroes 50 years on from our momentous league and FA Cup double.

Charlie George, the Islington-born forward, was only 20 years old when he scored the winning goal in the Wembley showpiece that day.

George, now 70 and still living in North London, said:

“The 1971 team was a fantastic one to be a part of, and the FA Cup win will always live long in the memory. The feeling of scoring a winning goal in the final is great, and it’s really nice to see the club celebrate that moment 50 years on.”
