Remo Freuler, Xhaka and Breel Embolo handed the hosts a seemingly unassailable 3-0 lead, before Denmark produced a miraculous comeback, scoring three goals in the final 10 minutes. All three were conceded after Xhaka was substituted in the 79th minute.
Prior to that, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Xhaka played the entirety of Switzerland’s 2-0 win over Georgia.
Steven Zuber opened the scoring with a curling finish, before Denis Zakaria doubled their advantage in the 80th minute.
Lucas Torreira won the China Cup with Uruguay on Monday night as they defeated Thailand 4-0 in the final.
Goals from Matias Vecino, Gaston Pereira, Cristhian Stuani and Maxi Gomez sealed a comfortable victory for Torreira’s side. This followed a routine 3-0 win over Uzbekistan.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored a penalty on Saturday as Armenia slipped to a narrow 2-1 defeat against Bosnia & Herzegovina
Rade Krunic and Deni Milosevic handed the hosts a two-goal lead, before Micki converted from 12 yards in the 93rd minute.
They then went on to play another EURO qualifier on Tuesday - but were unfortunately beaten 2-0 by Finland.
Alex Iwobi started for Nigeria as they ran out comfortable 3-1 winners over Seychelles on Friday.
After Odion Ighalo’s opener from the spot was cancelled out by Rody Melanie, Henry Onyekuru and Moses Simon found the back of the net, ensuring Nigeria finished their AFCON qualifying campaign at the top of Group E.
Mohammed Elneny started in Egypt’s 1-1 draw with Niger on Saturday.
Mahmoud Trezeguet handed Egypt the lead shortly after the break, before Amadou Moutari equalised in the 82nd minute.
Elneny and Iwobi then went on to face each other in a friendly on Tuesday night, with the latter coming out on top.
Paul Onuachu’s first minute strike is all that separated the two sides.
Sokratis started in Greece’s 2-2 draw with Bosnia & Herzegovina on Tuesday night.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang featured in Gabon’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Burundi on Saturday, as they were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw.
A late own goal from Omar Ngando ensured a nervy finish as Gabon searched for a winner, but it was too little too late, as Cedric Amissi’s opener secured qualification for the hosts. This means that Gabon won’t be attending the African Cup of Nations
Matteo Guendouzi featured in France Under-21’s 1-0 loss to Denmark on Sunday.
The 19-year-old played 45 minutes but was unable to stop Oliver Ablildgaard from scoring the game’s only goal.
