Kieran Tierney stole the show for Scotland on Wednesday evening in their 4-0 win over the Faroe Islands in World Cup Qualifying Group F.

Our left back set-up John McGinn twice and Che Adams on the hour mark to cap a fine individual display at Hampden Park. The result leaves Scotland second in the table after picking up five points from their opening three games.

Mohamed Elneny scored a delightful curler to open the scoring for Egypt against Comoros on Monday. Our 28-year-old midfielder played the full match as his side scored four times in 25 minutes to go three points clear at the top of Africa Cup of Nations Group G.

Elsewhere in the Africa Cup of Nations, Nicolas Pepe was an unused substitute in Ivory Coast's 3-1 win against Ethiopia in Abidjan.

Alex Runarsson played the full match as Iceland beat Liechtenstein 4-1 in Vaduz on Wednesday. Runarsson's side lost their opening two qualifying fixtures - 3-0 against Germany and 2-0 against Armenia - but put in a strong performance to secure their first points in Group J.

Germany were also in action in Group J. Bernd Leno was an unused substitute as Joachim Low's side slipped to a shock 2-1 defeat to North Macedonia.

Martin Odegaard played 79 minutes on Tuesday as Norway won 1-0 against Montenegro. Galatasaray defender Martin Linnes replaced our on-loan midfielder to see out the final 10 minutes, following Alexander Sorloth's 35th-minute strike.

Cedric Soares watched from the sidelines as Portugal beat Luxembourg 3-1 on Tuesday. Goals from Diogo Jota, Cristiano Ronaldo and Joao Palhinha cancelled out Gerson Rodrigues' early strike in Group A.

Daniel Ballard was also in World Cup qualifying action - playing 73 minutes in Northern Ireland's 0-0 draw against Bulgaria in Group C.

Granit Xhaka came on at half-time to guide Switzerland to a sensational comeback against rivals Finland on Wednesday. The Swiss entered the action with his side trailing 2-1, but goals from Ruben Vargas and an 86th-minute winner from Haris Seferovic turned the game on its head.

Eddie Nketiah played 70 minutes for England Under-21s on Wednesday as they crashed out of the European Championships despite beating Croatia 2-1. A late Domagoj Bradaric strike saw them overtake England on goal difference to put Aidy Boothroyd's side out at the group stages.

Matteo Guendouzi was also in U21 action - playing the full match and scoring the opening goal as France U21 beat Iceland U21 2-0.
