Declan Rice was part of the England side that qualified for UEFA Euro 2024 with a 3-1 win against Italy at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday night.
Declan played 90 minutes in midfield as the Three Lions remained unbeaten in Group C and went six points clear of the Euro 2020 champions. On his Instagram Story, Declan said: “Euros here we come! A privilege to be a part of this group.”
Aaron Ramsdale was an unused substitute for the game while Eddie Nketiah was not involved in the matchday squad.
Italy dropped down to third in the group after Ukraine came from behind to beat Malta 3-1 away from home. Oleksandr Zinchenko played 87 minutes of the game. Ukraine are now three points behind England and three ahead of Italy, who both have a game in hand.
In the World Cup CONMEBOL qualifiers, Gabriel and Gabriel Jesus both played 90 minutes of Brazil’s 2-0 defeat away to Uruguay. The result leaves Brazil third in the group, level on points with Uruguay and five behind Argentina after four games played.
As for Tuesday’s international friendlies, Takehiro Tomiyasu kept a clean sheet in Japan’s 2-0 win at home to Tunisia, while Thomas Partey got 64 minutes in Ghana’s 4-0 loss away to USA. On Monday, Mohamed Elneny played the full 90 minutes as Egypt drew 1-1 with Algeria, falling to a stoppage-time Islam Slimani equaliser.
Kai Havertz was an unused substitute for Germany’s 2-2 friendly draw away to Mexico, and the same can be said for Karl Hein at Estonia, who drew 1-1 against Thailand.
