Aaron Ramsey was on the losing side as Wales were beaten 1-0 by the Republic of Ireland in Cardiff, ending their World Cup qualification hopes. A 57th-minute goal from West Brom’s James McClean helped Martin O’Neill’s side leapfrog Wales and earn a play-off place behind Serbia in Group D.
