Internationals: Little scores five for Scotland

Six of our stars were in international action on Friday night. Read on to find out how they fared:

Kim Little helped Scotland kick-off their Euro 2021 qualifying campaign in style as she scored five goals in an 8-0 win over Cyprus.

Jen Beattie and Lisa Evans also started the fixture, with the latter assisting Claire Emslie’s opener in the 11th minute. Little then went on to score twice in the first half, before scoring three in quick succession after the break.

Jane Ross and Caroline Weir were also on the scoresheet.

Vivianne Miedema, Danielle van de Donk and Jill Roord helped Netherlands to victory in their opening Euro 2021 qualifier, as they ran out comfortable 7-0 winners over Estonia.

All three of our stars were named in the starting XI, with Miedema striking twice and Roord scoring once.

Miedema opened the scoring in the 27th minute, before Roord and Spitse ensured Netherlands were leading by three goals at the break. Spitse scored once more shortly after the restart and this was followed by Miedema’s second of the evening.

Former Gunner Dominique Bloodworth and Ellen Jansen completed the scoring in the closing 10 minutes.

Beth Mead was on target for the Lionesses in a friendly against Belgium on Thursday night - but she was unable to prevent them from slipping to a 3-3 draw.

Jodie Taylor handed England the lead with a dinked finish over Nicky Evrard, and less than five minutes later they were leading by two, as Mead pounced on a loose ball and fired into an empty net from close range.

A defensive collapse saw Phil Neville’s side concede three goals in the space of 20 minutes - but thankfully Nikita Parris converted a late penalty to salvage a draw for the Lionesses. Leah Williamson featured as a late second-half substitute.
