Internationals: Bielik scores at U-21 Euros

Bielik and Nelson

Three of our stars have been called up by their countries for the European Under-21 Championship. Read on to find out who is involved.

Krystian Bielik delivered a man-of-the-match performance in Poland’s thrilling 3-2 win over Belgium on Sunday.

The Red Devils made the perfect start when Aaron Leya Iseka opened the scoring in the 16th minute, but Szymon Zurkowki provided an almost instant response, equalising with a low drive from distance.

Bielik then went on to hand Poland the lead in the second half with a thumping header from a corner, before Sebastian Szymanski made it three by finishing into an empty goal.

Dion Cools pulled one back late on, but Poland stood strong to ensure a winning start in Group A.

They must now prepare to face Italy on Wednesday, June 19 (8pm) and Spain on Saturday, June 22 (8pm).

Reiss Nelson has been named in Aidy Boothroyd’s England squad following his impressive season-long loan spell with Hoffenheim.

The 19-year-old winger is set to face France on Tuesday, June 18 (8pm) and Romania on Friday, June 21 (5.30pm), before lining up against Croatia on Monday, June 24 (8pm).
