Aaron Ramsey is going out with a bang, not a whimper.
On the fringes of the team for much of the season, the Wales midfielder is now very much in the foreground. The goals are flowing - he has three in seven games - but it is Ramsey’s drive and will to win that have been ever-present, even when the chances don’t go in.
Unai Emery wasn’t involved in the discussions over Ramsey’s future. All the head coach has asked is that the Juventus-bound star gives everything for the Arsenal cause in his final months with us.
Emery is getting exactly what he wanted.
“I am very happy with him,” he said.
“It was not easy for him after he signed [for Juventus] to finish thinking about his future, but his focus is to help us and his attitude has been amazing towards each training session.
“He is available for each match, playing in different systems and different tactical positions for him.
“I continued speaking with him and he wants to do something important for the supporters, and I want to do something important with him in his last matches here with his Arsenal heart.”
