'I'm delighted... he's like my brother!'

Eddie Nketiah and Joe Willock have shared a pitch with each other for as long as they can remember.

Our young duo progressed through our youth ranks to secure a place in the first-team squad, and both netted as we returned to winning ways at Southampton on Thursday.

So how did it feel to be on the same Premier League scoresheet?

"I'm delighted," Nketiah said. "He's like my brother, so if I score he celebrates like me and if he scores, it's like I've scored again. I'm delighted for him, I think he did well when he came on and it was nice to wrap up the three points and for us both to get on the scoresheet.

"I think we work a lot on our high press and we did it really well today," our striker added. "For me personally, I always try to give my all for the team, so things like that, I can just smell a bit of uncertainty from the goalkeeper and I just kept pulling in. I've done that about 100 times, so it's nice that one of them leads to a goal.

"I think that's just the way I play. I always try to be a nuisance and put my weight around and chase for the team, run in behind and try and hold the ball up. The team all worked hard together and we were unlucky not to score more. We had a couple of good chances but it was good to get three points.

"I think we've been unfortunate - especially in the first game and the last game - but we knew we had to roll our sleeves up and really fight for the three points. Like I said, hopefully we'll build on from this and keep pushing forward."
