Lia Walti harbours big ambitions.
The Switzerland international played a key role in our title-winning season last term, and she’s already hungry for more success, with a trip to Wembley Stadium taking her fancy.
“I think we can be pretty happy with what we’ve shown this season,” said Walti after signing a new long-term contract. “It’s always hard coming back after a season where you win the title because everyone wants to beat you, and I think our performances have been getting better from game to game.
“The main goal is always winning the title and going into the Champions League next year, but I would definitely also like to get to the FA Cup final to play at Wembley! Everyone dreams of playing in the Champions League too and we want to go as far as we possibly can. We have a hard draw, but we’re a very competitive team and we have the quality to beat these teams. I’m really looking forward to seeing the team in these games.”
