Hurtig on late winner, current form and more

When Lina Hurtig came on in the 80th minute of Thursday’s UEFA Women’s Champions League game against Juventus, she understood the assignment.

The message from Renee Slegers was simple - score a goal in the final 10 minutes.

Our Swedish striker came close to doing so on three occasions before eventually finding the back of the net courtesy of a cross from Stina Blackstenius.

"It felt good," Lina said after the game. "An important goal. [The message was to] score a goal! Just keep them there and we had momentum, so just keep pushing and we did it until the end."

We're now through to the quarter-finals of the competition, but it's not job done yet for the team, who are hungry to finish top of Group C.

"We still need to win out to win the group, but of course it’s early to be [thinking] about the quarter finals," Lina said.

Asked what she puts our positive run of form down to, having won six out of the last seven matches in all competitions, she added: "I think we’re feeling good, happy as a team and as a squad. We’re in a good place, so we’re happy."

It certainly wasn't all plain-sailing on Thursday night, the scoreline a stark contrast to last week's 4-0 win away to Juventus.

"I think they came out with a different approach in this game and we had some trouble to find the through ball," Lina explained. "But we kept on going and in the end we turned it into a goal."
