Petr Cech is used to spending Christmas away from his family - but that won’t be the case this year.
We don’t play between December 22 and December 28, meaning our goalkeeper will celebrate at home.
on his Christmas…
This year is the first time ever that I don’t play on Boxing Day, and that makes a huge difference. During Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, you can spend the time with your family. You can go home and sit with people and enjoy more of the time. When you play on Boxing Day, you sometimes travel on the evening of Christmas Day, so your time with the family is limited. This year it’s going to be different.
on Christmas traditions…
For us the most important time is dinner on Christmas Eve. After dinner you go and open the presents. It’s late, it’s almost the early morning of the 25th. Then you have time to chat and enjoy the moment to be together as a family. I have my parents and my in-laws coming this year, so we’ll enjoy the moment together.
