Guendouzi and Aubameyang up for award

Guendouzi and Aubameyang

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Matteo Guendouzi and Arsenal in the Community have been nominated in categories at the London Football Awards 2019.

Aubameyang is in the running for Player of the Year, while Guendouzi is up for Young Player of the Year.

Arsenal in the Community has been put forward for the Community Project of the Year award, alongside Brentford and Chelsea, for their short-film Drawn Out.

The nominees were decided earlier this week by an independent panel comprising of former players, representatives from football administration and football media - and they will also decide the winners on Thursday, February 28.

Aubameyang made 39 appearances for us in all competitions over 2018, scoring 25 goals and assisting seven times.

Guendouzi swapped Lorient for north London in July 2018, and since then he’s kicked on under the guidance of Unai Emery, proving himself to be a vital member of the side.

Drawn Out is a short anti-violence film created by participants from Arsenal in the Community’s Premier League Kicks programme on the Elthorne Estate. It currently has over 2.4M views on YouTube and forms part of the Community’s efforts to give young people a voice and help them combat the negative stereotypes they face.
