To many, Switzerland will go into their World Cup Group E opener against Brazil as clear underdogs.
Granit Xhaka, however, has solely positive memories of facing the Selecao - and our midfielder is in confident mood going into Sunday’s match.
“We’ve played against them before, and I played against them in the Under-17 World Cup, when we beat them 1-0,” Xhaka told Arsenal Player. “I’ve played against them with the senior team as well, where we beat them 1-0 too.
“We can beat Brazil, and we can beat other teams too, but we’ll have to have a very good day to make it happen.
“It’s a massive highlight for all of Switzerland to play Brazil in our first match at the World Cup. They are a big favourite for the World Cup but we won’t hide. We have a great group and we have the chance to show that we can surprise Brazil. We need to prepare well.”
