Frida Maanum has been named as a contender for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award after a breakout season at the club.
This is Maanum’s first nomination for the prestigious, player-voted accolade after being nominated for Young Player of the Year last season.
Our 23-year-old midfielder, who will soon return from international duties for Norway at the Women’s World Cup, recorded nine goals and four assists in only her second Women’s Super League campaign.
Alongside her team contributions, Maanum received a number of individual accolades in recognition for her spectacular performances.
She was named Arsenal Women's Player of the Month twice last season and came second in our Goal of the Month poll in March for her beautiful strike against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-final. Our midfielder was also nominated for the PFA Fans' Player of the Season earlier this summer.
Maanum is one of four Gunners in contention for this year’s PFA awards, as Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka have been nominated for the men’s Player of the Year. Saka is also up for the Young Player of the Year alongside Gabriel Martinelli.
All the winners will be announced on Tuesday, August 29 at the PFA's 50th anniversary awards ceremony.
