Fabio Vieira has joined Portuguese side FC Porto on loan for the 2024/25 season.
The 24-year-old joined us in June 2022 from the Portuguese side, and has made 49 appearances for us in all competitions.
The versatile midfielder, who developed through Porto’s youth academy, made his debut for us in September 2022, coming on as a substitute in our Premier League away match at Manchester United. Fabio didn’t have to wait long for his first goal, with a memorable strike in the following league game, a 3-0 win away at Brentford.
Last season saw Fabio guide us to early silverware in the season opener against Manchester City in the 2023 FA Community Shield, when he scored the decisive penalty in our 4-1 shootout win at Wembley Stadium.
A Portugal youth international, Fabio scored an impressive 14 goals from his 25 appearances at under-21 level for his country. He also featured in all of Portugal’s fixtures on the way to their 2019 U19 European Championships final, where they finished as runners-up.
We wish Fabio all the best on loan this season with Porto.
