Our Gunners completed the Women's Super League double over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon, much to the delight of Jonas Eidevall.
It was an enjoyable display as we hit five past our local rivals, whilst only conceding a penalty in return, and our head coach spoke of his pride after the game.
"We know it was gonna be a challenging game today," Eidevall said pitchside. "It was windy out there, it's a physical Spurs team, and we're playing them in the middle of two Champions League games. So considering that, I'm really, really pleased with the performance here today."
A prolific afternoon at Brisbane Road could prove to be a massive boost to our momentum, as Stina Blackstenius, Caitlin Foord, Kim Little and Frida Maanum all got on the scoresheet in style.
"I think it was important to show that we could convert our chances today. First half, we were efficient with the chances that we had. In the second half, we took our chances and were very dominant in our performance. So the second half was by far the most pleasing part of the game."
"We were brave on the ball here on a pitch that sometimes could let you down. It's still really important to keep our identity and keep playing our way and keep playing to our strengths. I think we did that and we should be very proud of ourselves."
Now our focus turns to Wednesday. Our Gunners will be striving to overturn a 1-0 aggregate loss against Bayern Munich at Emirates Stadium and Eidevall has complete faith that we can book our place in the UEFA Women's Champions League semi-finals.
"Yeah, I think when we see what we're coming from: our Conti Cup Final against Chelsea to performances against Liverpool and Reading in the league, our second-half performance against Bayern and then here today, we have every right in the world to believe. Now we need to put that belief and that energy into action on Wednesday.
"We need everyone's help to do that as well. We need the fans. I know that we've sold quite a few tickets already. Let's sell more. Let's get as many as possible there and let's create something really memorable together."
