Khayon Nathan

Khayon Edwards and Nathan Butler-Oyedeji have both been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for August.

It’s been a fantastic start to the season for Mehmet Ali’s under-21s side as a whole, who are top of the division with three wins out of three games, 11 goals scored and four conceded.

Khayon has contributed to the attack in all three games, scoring a brace in a 4-2 win over Manchester United, getting an assist in a 3-1 win away to Wolverhampton Wanderers, and scoring again in a 4-1 victory at home to Aston Villa.

The same goes for Nathan, who got a goal and an assist against Manchester United, two goals against Wolves and another goal and assist against Aston Villa, wearing the captain’s armband in the latter two fixtures.

The other nominees are Joshua Ajala (West Ham United), Aaron Bott (Nottingham Forest), Jack Fletcher (Manchester United), Kyle McAdam (Nottingham Forest), Lewis Orford (West Ham United) and Kristian Sekularac (Fulham).

The winner will be decided by the Premier League Football Development Panel and will be announced at 10am BST on Friday, September 13.
