CAITLIN FOORD

Our Australian winger picked up three goals in four games this month. Caitlin returned from international duty in fine form, kicking off April with a brace against Leicester City.

She then proved a menace for the Lyon defence in our away Champions League semi-final leg and rewarded with our fourth and final goal, sealing our spot in the final for the first time since 2007.

KIM LITTLE

Just when you think you’ve seen it all from Kim Little, she finds a new level. Our skipper featured in all four of our fixtures in April, but it was her award-winning performance against Lyon in the decisive leg of the UEFA Women's Champions League that stood out.

Not only did Kim's commanding display in midfield help us cruise to a 4-1 win on the night, she also picked up Player of the Match and Player of the Round award.

Captain Kim also provided an assist this month, intricately dribbling through the Leicester City defence to cross into Beth Mead for our fourth goal on the night.

LEAH WILLIAMSON

The England captain was a stalwart in defence through the month of April, featuring in all four of our fixtures.

Leah’s vision and passing ability proved vital in our build-up play against Lyon across both legs, whilst also proving dominant in individual duels and snuffing out the French side’s attacks.

Her dangerous presence in the box for attacking set pieces also led to the all-important penalty against Lyon at Emirates Stadium, which Mariona Caldentey dispatched with ease.

MARIONA CALDENTEY

Our Spaniard scored in both legs against Lyon in the Champions League semi-final, but it was her unstoppable strike at the Groupama Stadium that put us ahead on aggregate and ultimately won the UWCL Goal of the Week.

After picking up the ball on the edge of a busy box, Mariona produced a moment of magic to give us the lead before half-time. She also racked up another assist in the WSL, bringing her season total in all competitions to 17 goals and 10 assists.
