Camden turn can yellow to celebrate '71

To mark 50 years since our famous first league and FA Cup double and to celebrate the return of the cannon on our 2021/22 away shirt, Camden Town Brewery have launched a new Double Hells Lager.

Inspired by Bertie Mee's momentous campaign, which saw us win both the First Division and the FA Cup, our official beer partner have turned their iconic red can yellow for this limited-edition commemorative brew.

Made with Arsenal fans in mind, Camden Town Brewery have 'doubled' all the best bits from their flagship Hells Lager and increased the ABV to 7.1% as a nod to the historic year.

The writing of 'Double' on the can has been inspired by the signature of FA Cup final hero Charlie George, whose 111th minute goal sealed the 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Wembley.

"1971 was one of the most iconic years for Arsenal and the club's amazing fans, so we brewed this limited-edition beer, that we believe is befitting of such a season, for Gooners to celebrate with," said Ashleigh Amos, Head of Brand Experience and Partnerships at Camden Town Brewery.

"Inspired by the away kit the team won in at Wembley 50 years ago, we've swapped our iconic Hells Lager red for yellow and blue. The colour is exclusive to our new Double Hells Lager, so it looks as fresh as it tastes."

Brewed just two miles from Emirates Stadium in Camden, the beer will be available to buy in north London from local retailers, and the Camden Webshop.

There will be an exclusive sale period at Arsenal Wine on Blackstock Road following this launch, before Double Hells Lager will be made available in other convenience stores around London from Tuesday, May 18.
