Back in September 2009, Nicklas Bendtner was involved in an accident that would change his life forever.
Driving to London Colney for training, the then 21-year-old lost control of his car on the A1 and span off into a nearby field, luckily escaping with just a number of minimal injuries.
“It was definitely the most defining moment in my career when I crashed my car,” Bendtner told our ‘In Lockdown’ podcast.
“There’s been ups and downs throughout my whole career and every time I had a down on the pitch, I looked to get an up, but I might have looked in the wrong places.
“But it was definitely a career-defining moment for me, crashing my car, and it left me out for a while and I had different surgeries after that. It still affects me to this day.”
