We host Fulham at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, with the focus very much on extending our 100 per cent start to the Premier League season.
Like Arsenal, Marco Silva’s newly-promoted side also go into this weekend’s fixture unbeaten in 2022/23. Fulham have impressed in their first three matches of the campaign - holding Liverpool to a draw before securing a point at Wolves and beating Brentford in a pulsating London derby last weekend.
So, what is Mikel Arteta expecting from the game?
“A really tough match,” he said at his pre-match press conference. “They’ve been on an incredible run - last year in the Championship they did extremely well, and they haven’t lost a game yet in the Premier League and they’ve played against three very difficult opponents, so credit to them. I think it will be a difficult game.”
Fulham’s principal threat could come from Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has followed up a record-breaking goal tally in last season’s Championship with three goals in his first three Premier League matches this term.
“You could see last season when he scored 43 goals in the league, and he’s already scored three goals this season,” Arteta said. “So in terms of the efficiency that he has in these areas, he’s one of the main threats of Fulham.
“The mood [in the Arsenal camp] is really good, and the energy is really good. The boys have trained exceptionally well this week again, and we just have to put in another good performance and earn the right to win.”
