An Arsenal XI made up of a mixture of under-23 and under-18 players will play Boreham Wood at Meadow Park on Thursday, July 27 with kick-off at 7.30pm.
The Gunners’ academy side and Arsenal Ladies play their home matches at Meadow Park.
The pre-season friendly against the Wood is a traditional part of the academy’s preparations for the new campaign and marks the start of a new 10-year partnership between the two clubs.
Meadow Park has undergone a number of major redevelopments in recent months and a range of special activities are planned on the matchday to mark the official opening of Boreham Wood’s excellent new facilities.
We are hopeful that Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger and chief executive Ivan Gazidis will be on hand to assist with an opening ceremony before the game.
Supporters will also have the opportunity to have their photos with the Emirates FA Cup and Arsenal mascot Gunnersaurus from 5.30pm.
A free football session will be held on the newly resurfaced astro-turf pitch at Meadow Park from 5.30pm to 6.30pm for children aged 5-12, with participants given free entry to the match in the evening.
Matchday tickets will be available on the gate on the day of the match as follows:
Adults - £14
Senior citizens - £12
U-16s - £8
U-12s - £4
Arsenal and Boreham Wood supporters who present their 2017/18 season tickets at the gate pre-match will receive half-priced entry.
