Arsenal Women extend Mastercard partnership

Arsenal Women celebrate scoring against Leeds United

We're delighted to announce the extension of Mastercard as an official partner of Arsenal Women.

The partnership with the leading global payment technology company initially began in May 2019, and now extends into a long-term agreement.

Through our partnership, Mastercard is supporting the growth of women’s football and the extension ensures the bespoke branded content series ‘Matchday Moments’ and ‘Moment of the Match’, will continue to follow each of our women’s fixtures.

The extension comes at an exciting time for women’s football with the Lionesses' success last summer bringing a new audience to the game. For more than three decades, we’ve been setting new standards in the game.

From becoming the most successful women’s team in the UK with 58 trophies (including being the only UK club to win the Champions League) to breaking the Barclays Women's Super League attendance record earlier this season, we continue to raise the bar and inspire girls and women everywhere.

In November, we also secured our second-ever women’s only partnership by joining forces with New York-based beauty brand IL MAKIAGE to promote women’s football globally.

Juliet Slot, our Chief Commercial Officer, said: "Our extended partnership with Mastercard is another strong indicator of growth in women’s football and Arsenal’s continued investment to make the game a strong proposition for our partners. We’ve seen recently in our matches that the crowds are coming, and now commercial partners are also coming.

"Mastercard were our first women’s only partner and we applaud their foresight and for all they have done to work with us on promoting women’s sport. Having bold, like-minded partners like Mastercard and Il Makiage are key to sustainable growth.

"We’ve been pioneers in women’s football since 1987, but true pioneers don’t stand still, and we're excited to build on the progress we’re making together.”

Agnes Woolrich, VP Marketing, UK&I, Mastercard, added: “Supporting women’s football is a unique way to connect with fans, promote gender equality, and inspire the next generation. It’s not just about sponsorship – we want to advocate for women who are breaking down barriers, help boost participation, and truly support the growth of the women’s game.”

Mastercard has supported women’s football for more than 25 years and is a long-standing advocate of the importance of diversity, inclusion and partnering, to promote good governance and integrity in sport. As one of the biggest investors in women’s sports, it puts gender equality at the centre of its goals and has developed one of the most well-rounded women’s sports portfolios globally.
