Arsenal Giving Together continued today as players from our men's and women's team came together with club staff to surprise and meet supporters in our local community and spread some festive cheer.
Our local hospitals, The Whittington and Barnet General, along with schools, local pitches and our Arsenal in the Community Hub were visited by the first team squad, some of our women's team and staff who all met supporters and participants on our various community projects.
The visit forms part of Arsenal Giving Together which sees the club come together to donate time and money to The Arsenal Foundation which supports deserving projects and beneficiaries in the local community and worldwide with Save the Children.
Saturday's Premier League match against Huddersfield Town saw players from the men's and women's team donate a day's salary to The Arsenal Foundation and today was about seeing some of the local projects where the money goes and enjoying spending time together in the festive season.
As well as meeting young patients in our local hospitals, players surprised children at Highbury Quadrant School who benefit from our weekly Arsenal in the Community Double Club - a programme that uses football as a tool to engage local children with literacy and numeracy education. We also visited Skinners Academy, where The Arsenal Foundation donated £50,000 to build a football pitch to give children the opportunity to play football in a safe environment, while other players made a visit to The Arsenal Hub - the home of Arsenal in the Community, which engages over 5,000 people per week in our various sports, social inclusion and education programmes.
Beneficiaries from The Toy Project, an initiative which recycles unwanted and used toys to those in need, also spent time with players and received gifts at Emirates Stadium.
