As we count down to our Arsenal Foundation matchday against Newcastle, we’re celebrating our long-standing relationship with Teenage Cancer Trust.
We were proud to have Teenage Cancer Trust as our charity of the season in 2008/09 and – with the help of supporters we raised over £500,000 to build a new education zone. Last year, we were able to donate a further £100,000 to fund 3,000 hours of nursing care, to help Teenage Cancer Trust with their extraordinary work.
Arsène Wenger and the first team squad will continue our festive tradition of donating a day’s wages to The Arsenal Foundation at our game against Newcastle. Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott, Hector Bellerin and Laurent Koscielny visited Teenage Cancer Trust recently to see how their support makes a difference.
Simon Fuller, Director of Services for Teenage Cancer Trust, said, “The visit was a chance to show some of the Arsenal players first-hand the difference that has been made thanks to their support. The young people were thrilled at the opportunity to meet the players, and the buzz and energy on the unit during the visit was absolutely brilliant.”
