Arsenal and Arsenal Foundation win Willow Award

Willow award

Arsenal and The Arsenal Foundation have been awarded the Willow Foundation’s Willow at Heart Award.

The award was presented at the Willow Ball 2023 by Arsenal legend David Seaman and his wife Frankie, who were recently announced as Willow’s new Honorary Presidents.

Willow was founded in 1999 by former Arsenal goalkeeper and TV presenter Bob Wilson and his wife, Megs, as a lasting memorial to their daughter, Anna, who died of cancer aged 31.

Its mission is to provide “Special Days” for young adults living with a life-threatening illness, helping to provide a focus for quality of time and quality of life, and restoring some normality back into their lives.

We have long been a supporter of Willow and its work, whether that’s through providing matchday experiences for families Willow is supporting, delivering messages from players to those affected, or grants through our Foundation.

Mairead King, Director of The Arsenal Foundation, accepted the award on behalf of the club, and said, “We are proud to support Willow and help them deliver special experiences for those suffering from life-threatening illness.

"The memories those moments create can be priceless, cherished forever by those affected, as well as their close friends and family. That sense of belonging is something we all strive for at Arsenal and our gratitude goes to Bob and Megs, as well as everyone at Willow, for their tireless work and commitment.”
