Alexis - My assessment of ‘excellent’ Lacazette

They have only played together three times so far, but that is more than enough for Alexis to have drawn a positive impression of the “excellent” Alexandre Lacazette.

Our new French forward has scored four times in eight Premier League appearances, and Alexis feels his team-mate has all the attributes to succeed in England.
“When he has a goalscoring chance, he is a good finisher,” the Chile forward told Arsenal Player. “He’s a classic striker.
“He was a successful player in France, and the two of us work well together. He’s an excellent player.
“I believe we have [a good understanding]. We haven’t played that many games together but when we have, I like how he plays.
“He finds space and understands the game well. He is very talented.”

Alexis My advice for ‘talented’ Nelson

Reiss Nelson has caught the eye of many with a series of exciting displays so far this season – and that includes Alexis.

With a front-row seat to the 17-year-old’s development, there are few better positioned to offer guidance to up-and-coming stars than the Chile international – and he likes what he has seen so far.

“Reiss has real talent, but he still has a lot to learn from other players,” Alexis told Arsenal Player.

“From playing more matches and getting more experience. That’s exactly what the boss is providing for him, so that he can carry on improving as a player.

“He must train every day and get better every day. It’s all down to him whether or not he wants to end up at the very top of the sport.”

‘Why it’s fun to play with Lacazette and Alexis’

After the performances they gave at Goodison Park last Sunday, it’s no surprise to learn that Mesut Ozil is loving playing alongside Alexandre Lacazette and Alexis.

All three players scored in our win at Everton - Alexis set up Ozil, Ozil set up Lacazette and all three linked well throughout. So why did their combination work so well?

“We are three players who have individual strengths,” Ozil said, “I see it in training when we play together.

“I’m pleased that things worked well against Everton. We made chances, scored goals and it’s a lot of fun to play with these guys.

“I feel 100 per cent fit now. I had knee problems [earlier this season] but in the game at Everton you saw that I’m fully fit and I was relieved to help the team.”

We host Swansea City on Saturday afternoon, having won our last 12 home matches in all competitions.

“At Emirates we’re more comfortable as we have the fans behind us,” Ozil added. “We need to get the same results in away games to be at top at the end of the table. We’re happy to be strong at home and need to show that against Swansea too.”
