Egypt secured their place in the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations after Mohamed Abdelmonem’s 35th-minute header sent them on their way to a 1-0 win over Sudan at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo.

Mo Elneny's side take on Nicolas Pepe's Ivory Coast this Wednesday for a place in the quarter-finals.

Ivory Coast progressed unbeaten from Group E after beating Algeria 3-1 at the Japoma Stadium last Thursday evening. Goals from Franck Kessie, Ibrahim Sangare and a second goal of the tournament for Pepe sealed the win.

Omar Rekik’s Tunisia are through to the quarter-finals after securing a shock 1-0 victory over Nigeria on Sunday night. Rekik's side came into the game off the back of a 1-0 defeat to Gambia in their final game of Group F on Thursday and were heavy underdogs going into the match.

Our young defender came on in the 94th minute of the last-16 clash to help Tunisia dump Nigeria out of the tournament, courtesy of goalkeeper Maduka Okoye’s second-half mistake.

Youssef Msakni shrugged off his man before cutting inside Wilfred Ndidi and firing home a tame effort from 25-yards to beat the unsighted Okoye.

Victory in Garoua sees Tunisia reach their fourth successive quarter-final at the tournament.
