SUMMARY
We have progressed to the quarter-finals of this season’s SSE Women’s FA Cup after a resounding 10-0 win over Tottenham.
Danielle van de Donk got a hat-trick while Dan Carter also scored twice for us in an irresistible display.
Beth Mead found the net on her debut, with Chloe Kelly and Kim Little also on the scoresheet, alongside Katie McCabe and Dominique Janssen.
The draw for the next round will take place on Monday.
SETTING THE SCENE
Pedro Martinez Losa handed debuts to two new signings for the first competitive fixture of the season.
Heather O’Reilly started on the flank, with Little captaining the side as she kicked off her second spell at the club.
Sari van Veenendaal started in goal, behind a back three of Leah Williamson, Fara Williams and Janssen.
Carter led our attack, supported by O’Reilly, Taylor, Van de Donk and McCabe.
FIRST HALF
We dominated from the off and broke the deadlock when Carter powered a drive past Toni-Anne Wayne after a smart through ball from Nobbs.
Janssen added the second with a near-post flick from an O’Reilly cross, before Carter scored again to make it three.
Little the calmly made it four on her return to Meadow Park to extend our lead.
We went in with a five-goal advantage at the break thanks to Van de Donk’s close range strike two minutes before the interval.
SECOND HALF
It was Van de Donk who found the net once again after 14 minutes of the second half, with a brilliant backheel after Carter had teed her up.
Kelly stepped off the bench and applied the finishing touch for our seventh goal after charging in on goal.
A debut strike for Mead followed, before Nobbs hit the post.
McCabe flicked the ball away from the defence and slammed the ball home for our ninth, before Van de Donk’s looping effort wrapped up the scoring.
