Arsenal impressed in the penultimate game of their season with a convincing 4-1 win at Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.
Joel Asoro gave the hosts the lead after a quarter of an hour, but Eddie Nketiah scored his 20th goal of the season to level matters before the break.
The striker struck again in the second half to put the Gunners in front, before substitute Reiss Nelson and then Donyell Malen scored to round off an impressive performance.
The hosts couldn’t have wished for a better start and were ahead after 15 minutes when Asoro volleyed into the bottom corner.
Arsenal fought back well and, following attempts from Josh Dasilva and Nketiah, the latter converted Vlad Dragomir’s cross five minutes before half time.
Nketiah continued to trouble the Black Cats and soon struck again, this time rolling the ball past James Talbot just after the hour mark.
Nelson was next to get on the scoresheet, when the midfielder raced in behind Sunderland’s defence and finished coolly.
Malen rounded off the scoring with 10 minutes to go, skipping past Talbot before poking home into an empty net to seal the points.
