SUMMARY

Jordan Nobbs scored a fine brace as Arsenal Ladies beat Notts County to win their fourth Continental Cup title on Sunday

The England international struck either side of Laura Bassett’s red card in the first half to give the Gunners a comfortable lead at the interval.

Substitute Chioma Ubogagu slipped the ball past Carly Telford moments from the end to seal the victory.

The final whistle brought wild celebrations as Pedro Martinez Losa secured his first trophy with the club.

SETTING THE SCENE

Losa made two changes to the side that beat Birmingham City in the semi-final.

Dan Carter was replaced by birthday girl Rachel Yankey, while Jade Bailey started instead of Alex Scott.

Nobbs and Vicky Losada were named in midfield as Casey Stoney was handed the armband.

FIRST HALF

The Gunners started slowly as Sari van Veenendaal was forced to make a fantastic save to deny Bassett in the 10th minute.

Nobbs put Arsenal in front after she raced down the right flank and fired past Telford.

The game swing even further in Arsenal's direction when Bassett was then given a straight red card for a sliding challenge on Losada.

Nobbs was on target again just before the break with a powerful drive from 25 yards out to put the Gunners firmly in control.

Second half

Notts County threatened after the interval as Dominque Janssen and Jemma Rose were forced to clear a loose ball off the line.

Losada went close later when she won the ball on the edge of the box and fired over the bar.

Substitute Ubogagu scored near the end when she slipped the ball past Telford to secure the trophy in Arsenal's fifth consecutive Continental Cup final.
