Arsenal Under-18s were held to a goalless draw at Chelsea on Saturday.
Both sides needed time to settle and it took until midway through the first half for either to conjure up a clear-cut chance. It came when Chelsea’s Josh McEachran prodded over from close range.
However the visitors did kick on late in the half. They could have taken the lead just before the whistle when Luke Freeman’s shot was blocked by Matt Paploe and then keeper Sam Walker saved from Conor Henderson.
McEachran had the ball in the net twice in the close stages of the second half but was flagged for offside each time. Walker also denied Freeman again at the death.
Arsenal are now 10 points clear of Crystal Palace in the Premier League Academy Group A table but have played one more game than the South London side
