Luke Freeman took his tally to nine goals in 14 games with a brace as Arsenal Under-18s beat Southampton 3-1 at the Training Ground on Saturday.
The former Gillingham forward scored in the opening seconds but the visitors levelled midway through the first half. Conor Henderson restored Arsenal's lead six minutes later with a deflected free-kick. Then Freeman added another after a well-worked move four minutes before the break.
There were no goals in the second half but the victory means Steve Bould's side are now eight points clear of second-place Crystal Palace.
