Arsenal Ladies continued their winning streak with a 8-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Thursday evening.
The home side kept the score down during the first half but the Gunners did establish a comfortable lead thanks to a superb volley from Corrine Yorston and another strike from the in-form Kim Little.
Tony Gervaise’s players upped the tempo after the break and took Forest apart with some fine attacking football. Katie Chapman and Little each converted penalties and a sending-off made life even more difficult for the hosts.
Rachel Yankey, Helen Lander, Gemma Davison and Little - completing her hat-trick – all capitalised on Arsenal’s numerical advantage to score before the end.
The reigning champions have won seven out of seven this season, including all three of their Premier League matches.
Arsenal now trail early leaders Millwall by four points, although the Gunners have six games in hand. A bigger threat looks likely to come from Chelsea and Everton – both those sides still have 100 per cent records.
