Arsenal Ladies strolled to a 4-1 win against Liverpool at Ashley
Travel Stadium on Sunday, their second win of the season.
The Ladies were in impressive form and took just 18 minutes to
break the deadlock. Jayne Ludlow latched on to a deep cross to fire
home from inside the box.
The remainder of the half tested Arsenal's patience and,
with only a one-goal margin, the result remained in doubt at the
break.
However two goals in two minutes from Lianne Sanderson five
minutes after the break put the visitors in the comfort zone. She
scored her first in simple fashion and showed great predatory
instincts for her second, poking home a loose ball following a good
save by the Liverpool goalkeeper.
Kelly Jones did pull one back for the home side 10 minutes from
the end, only for Karen Carney to restore the three-goal cushion on
89 minutes.
The defending league champions will now travel to Cardiff to
start their defence of the League Cup.
