Lianne Sanderson plundered a hat-trick as Arsenal thrashed Leeds
United 8-1 to stay clear at the top of the Women's Premier
League.
Vic Akers' side needed a last-minute goal to beat their
Yorkshire rivals in the Women's League Cup Final earlier this
month but were always in command on this occasion.
Sanderson's treble to her season's goal tally to 31
while Rachel Yankey (2), Kelly Smith, Alex Scott and Karen Carney
were also on target for the champions. Jess Clarke hit Leeds'
consolation goal.
Arsenal are five points clear of Charlton and Everton at the top
of the Premier League table.
