Arsenal remain top of the Nationwide Women's Premier League
following a comprehensive 5-1 win at Bristol Academy.
Trudy Williams gave the home side the lead midway through the
first half. Arsenal soon got to grips with the game and Alex Scott
arrived at the far post to restore parity. Within minutes of
Scott's equaliser, Arsenal took the lead when Ciara Grant's
cross was deflected into her own net by a Bristol defender.
England international Kelly Smith was introduced to the
proceedings with 25 minutes remaining - and the visitors took
control of the game.
Grant scored the third following good work by Rachel McArthur
before Smith and former Bristol City midfielder McArthur got in on
the act.
