A much-changed Arsenal Under-18s suffered a 3-0 defeat in the
mini North London derby at London Colney on Saturday.
Youngsters Craig Eastmond, Jay Thomas, Jack Wilshere and Cedric
Evina all made rare starts for Steve Bould's side, with
regulars Fran Merida, Nacer Barazite, and Paul Rodgers dropping to
the bench. Defender Gavin Hoyte, midfielder Mark Randall and
strikers Rui Fonte and Jay Simpson were rested completely following
a hectic recent schedule in the Academy League, Reserve League and
FA Youth Cup.
The young Gunners conceded all three goals in the first half as
they suffered only their second league defeat of the
campaign.
