Folarin Balogun played 62 minutes at Old Trafford as Middlesbrough knocked Manchester United out of the Emirates FA Cup on penalties. Jadon Sancho gave the home side the lead after 25 minutes, before Matt Crooks equalised for Boro in the second half. Anthony Elanga missed the deciding penalty in a dramatic shoot-out that the Championship side won 8-7.
Matteo Guendouzi had a busy week, twice playing 90 minutes for Marseille. Our midfielder scored the opener in his side's 2-1 defeat to Lyon, heading home a Dimitri Payet corner at the near post. He then provided an assist as his side beat Angers 5-2, picking out Arkadiusz Milik with a well-timed through ball to spark his side's comeback after they trailed by two goals. Our midfielder's assist was his eighth in all competitions for Marseille.
William Saliba also played 90 minutes in both matches last week, with the win against Angers lifting the French side to second in Ligue 1 after 23 matches.
Pablo Mari made his debut for Udinese and helped them keep a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Torino. The Italian side now sit 14th in the Serie A table after 23 matches.
Hector Bellerin played 90 minutes as Real Betis lost 2-0 to Villarreal. The defeat leaves the Spanish side third in La Liga after 23 matches.
Lucas Torreira played 85 minutes before being sent off for a second bookable offence as Fiorentina were beaten 3-0 by Lazio. They sit eighth in the Serie A table after 23 matches.
Tim Akinola made his debut for Dundee United, playing 45 minutes of their goalless draw with St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles played 57 minutes in Roma's 0-0 draw with Genoa. The point leaves the Italian side seventh in Serie A after 24 matches.
Dinos Mavropanos played the full match as Stuttgart were beaten 3-2 by Eintracht Frankfurt. The defeat leaves them 17th in the Bundesliga after 21 matches.
Nikolaj Moller made his debut for FC Den Bosch, playing 64 minutes in their 1-0 defeat to ADO Den Haag.
Matt Smith played successive 90 minutes for Doncaster Rovers as they lost 5-0 to Rotherham and beat Sunderland 2-1.
Ryan Alebiosu played 90 minutes as he made his debut for Crewe Alexandra in their 1-0 defeat to Gillingham.
Alex Runarsson played 90 minutes in OH-Leuven's 3-1 win over KV Oostende.
Brooke Norton-Cuffy was a 61st-minute substitute as Lincoln City lost 2-1 to MK Dons in League One.
