Loan Watch: Nelson reaches Conference League final

Seven of our players have been in action for their respective loan clubs over the past week.

Read on to find out how they performed:

Congratulations to Reiss Nelson, who helped Feyenoord to reach the final of the Europa Conference League. Our winger played 88 minutes of his side's 0-0 draw with Marseille in their semi-final second leg, as Arne Slot's men won the tie 3-2 on aggregate to progress through to the final, where they will meet Jose Mourinho's Roma. Nelson also played 45 minutes as the Dutch side were held 2-2 by PSV. The point failed to close the gap on their opponents in second place and keeps them third in the Eredivisie, 11 points behind the league leaders, Ajax, with two matches left to play.

Matteo Guendouzi had a busy week, featuring twice for Marseille. Our midfielder played the entirety of the French side's 0-0 draw with Feyenoord, as Jorge Sampaoli's men fell just short of reaching the Conference League final, losing 3-2 on aggregate. Guendouzi also played the full match and scored as Marseille beat Lorient 3-0. Our midfielder doubled his side's lead in the win, receiving the ball just inside the box from Luan Peres and beating two defenders before firing low into the bottom corner against his former club.

William Saliba also played the entirety of Marseille's goalless draw with Feyenoord and helped his side to keep their second clean sheet of the week in the win against Lorient. The three points keep Sampaoli's side second in Ligue 1, three points clear of Monaco in third place, with two matches remaining.

Konstantinos Mavropanos played the entirety of Stuttgart's 2-2 draw with 10-man Bayern Munich. The German side stay 16th in the Bundesliga and are set to face a relegation play-off to stay in the top flight with one game remaining.

Folarin Balogun was a 62nd-minute substitute as Middlesbrough were beaten 4-1 by Preston North End. Chris Wilder's side finished the Championship season in seventh place, and fell short of a play-off spot by five points.

Pablo Mari played the full match as Udinese drew 1-1 with Sassuolo. The Italian side currently sit 12th in Serie A with two matches left to play.

Harry Clarke played 90 minutes as Hibernian were held 1-1 by Aberdeen. Hibs stay second in the Scottish Premiership relegation table with two matches remaining.
