Lucky JG chosen as semi-final mascot

One lucky Junior Gunner received a surprise from Gunnersaurus during an Arsenal Soccer School session last week.

After Arsenal reached the FA Cup semi-final, the club randomly selected JoJo from over 34,000 JGs and made plans to surprise her. It came to light that JoJo would be attending a soccer school during the Easter holidays and that seemed the perfect setting for the big reveal.

The eight-year-old was astonished as the club's mascot turned up at the session and revealed that she had won the chance to be Arsenal's mascot at Wembley for this weekend's last-four match against Reading.

JoJo will have the chance to meet the Arsenal team in the dressing room before leading the team onto the pitch. She will then get to watch the game with her parents from the stands.

After the surprise, JoJo said: “I thought Gunnersaurus had come to surprise us all with a visit, I didn’t think it would be just for me. I’m so excited about going to Wembley and meeting the players, especially Santi Cazorla.”

JoJo’s father Sean said “We found it very difficult not to tell her, knowing how excited she would be but the look of excitement and shock on her face when she realised what was happening was amazing. We’re really looking forward to seeing her lead out the team on Saturday."
