It's time to reveal the Gunners' Greatest 50 Goals - as voted for by Arsenal's fans.
Arsenal's supporters have voted Dennis Bergkamp's outstanding strike at Newcastle as the Gunners' Greatest Goal.
The Dutch legend has a bulging portfolio of classic goals but this was a true masterpiece. It summed up the vision, speed of thought, deftness of touch and clinical finishing that Bergkamp brought to Arsenal for more than a decade.
And it's worth noting that this goal did not decorate some meaningless game. Arsenal were in a battle royal for the Premier League title and Bergkamp's strike, after 11 minutes at St. James Park, set up a priceless 2-0 win two months before the end of the season.
The move itself involved three of Arsenal's 'big beasts'. Patrick Vieira started a typically fluid counter-attack, picking out Bergkamp from deep inside his own half. The Dutchman sprayed the ball wide to Robert Pires and then stormed through the centre while the French winger made progress down the left.
Pires cut inside looking for options and spotted Bergkamp on the edge of the box; he duly arrowed a pass towards the Dutchman.
Bergkamp was on the move from right to left and had Newcastle defender Nikos Dabizas in close attention. The ball came at speed towards his left foot and, in an instant, Bergkamp worked out the best way to craft a goalscoring opportunity. He flicked the ball one side of Dabizas and went round the other side, showing great strength to hold off the defender.
Having shown incredible skill and strength, Bergkamp still needed the composure to finish off what he had started. He coolly dispatched the ball past Shay Given and into the bottom corner.
