William Henderson was best known for his spell at Southampton during the 1920s.
Before that the centre forward spent time at Arsenal, joining the Club from Carlisle United for a fee of £1,000 in 1921.
Henderson made his senior debut in a league game at Huddersfield Town but only played a further six times for the Gunners.
He joined Luton Town in March 1923 before moving on to Southampton and Coventry City. Henderson then returned to Carlisle and finished his playing career there.
Upon retirement, Henderson became a tobacconist in Carlisle.
