Rhys Wilmot made nine senior appearances for Arsenal over a 12-year playing career at Highbury.
The goalkeeper joined as a schoolboy in 1977, before signing professional forms in January 1980.
Wilmot found regular pitch time hard to come by as understudy to Pat Jennings, George Wood and then John Lukic, and was loaned out to Hereford, Leyton Orient, Swansea and Plymouth during his time in north London.
A promising youngster, he picked up honours with Wales schoolboys and made appearances as a Welsh youth international with six Under-21 caps between 1981 and 1983.
He made his senior Arsenal debut in the Milk Cup at Aston Villa in January 1986, before making his final league appearance against Norwich in May 1987.
He was later transferred to Plymouth Argyle for £100,000 in July 1989 after a successful loan spell and later featured for Grimsby Town and Crystal Palace.
