John Rutherford was the eldest son of 'Jock' Rutherford, who played for Arsenal 232 times between 1913-1926.
Rutherford Jr could not quite match the achievements of his father, however, and only played once for the Club after joining as an amateur in April 1924.
He did not turn professional for almost three years but made his only first-class appearance in a 6-1 victory over Bury in November 1925.
Rutherford joined West Ham United on a free transfer in June 1927.
