James Smith spent just over a year at Arsenal.
The Preston-born outside right joined the Club from Fulham in May 1920, having begun his career with Bury in the North West.
He made his senior debut on the opening day of the 1920/21 campaign in a disappointing 5-0 defeat to Aston Villa - the first of 10 starts that season.
Smith struggled to make a first-team place his own and was eventually given a free transfer in August 1921.
