Edwin Bateup

Edwin Bateup had two spells at Arsenal at the start of the 20th century.

Formerly of the 7th Dragoon Guards, the goalkeeper joined from Faversham in 1905 but left the Club to join New Brompton. Bateup returned in 1910 though he was sold to Burslem Port Vale the next year.

Bateup made 34 league and two FA Cup appearances for Arsenal and was part of the team that were South Eastern League champions for three consecutive seasons from 1905/06 onwards.
