Con Sullivan

Con Sullivan was a fringe player during his Arsenal career before injuries took their toll.

The goalkeeper, who had previously featured for Gloucestershire Youth, joined from Bristol City in February 1954.

Sullivan made his debut two months later against Newcastle - his only appearance of the season.

He did not fare much better the following campaign, playing just twice, but featured 22 times over the next two years as second-choice goalkeeper.

Sullivan was forced to retire at the end of the 1958/59 season with a back injury sustained during training. After leaving Arsenal he returned to Bristol and became a permit player for Robertson Athletic.
