WHAT HAPPENED

We made it four wins from four in the Continental Tyres Cup on Wednesday night as we beat Millwall Lionesses at Princes Park.

Katie McCabe had the first sight of goal when her drilled cross forced Chloe Sansom into a difficult save, before Vivianne Miedema fired over from inside the box.

Lia Walti then charged at the Millwall defence and fired the ball across the face of goal, but Miedema was unable to make contact.

We dominated the opening exchanges, but to the surprise of everyone at Princes Park, it was the hosts who broke the deadlock.

A lack of communication between Lia Walti and Pauline Peyraud-Magnin gave Gabby Ravenscroft a free shot at goal - and the former Arsenal academy product made no mistake with her finish.

Their opener failed to knock our confidence, though, and in the second half we delivered a faultless five-minute spell, scoring three goals from three shots.

Miedema drew us level with a low drive from 25 yards, before Ruby Grant handed us the lead with her first senior goal for the club.

The midfielder received the ball 30 yards from goal and fired a stunning left-footed effort into the top corner.

Millwall’s defence had been rocked - and shortly after Leah Williamson leapt high inside the box to head home her first goal of the season.

Danielle Van de Donk then tried her luck with an audacious overhead kick, but her effort sailed narrowly wide.
